What’s important to know about me? I’m a Seattle transplant living in the Midwest. I’m a writer and a therapist in equal measures. I’m a mama to one, soon to be two, wondrous littles. I’m an introvert, but I do NOT like to stay at home! I hate the stereotype that all introverts like to do is read books under a blanket. Although I do love those things, let’s not do them for more than… an hour, okay?
I love to be out exploring. I love getting to know all kinds of diverse people. Most of all, I love helping people learn more about themselves, feel better about themselves, and become better prepared to handle all this world has to throw at them. That’s why I started this blog.
Wondering about my qualifications? I know, I know, you didn’t ask. But just in case you were, I am an independently licensed mental health provider. I’ve worked as an outpatient therapist, a residential substance abuse therapist, and an in-home family therapist. I’ve worked with all ages on all manner of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, specific phobias, addiction, grief, and more.
Is mental health limited to diagnosable disorders? Absolutely not! Everyone can, and should, foster their mental health just like their physical health. You need to take care of your mind, just like you take care of your body. I hope this blog helps you do just that. Thanks for checking it out!
